Icon Farms has been a dream of mine for many years. In 2008 it became a reality for me. With the purchase of nearly 30 acres in beautiful Sheyenne, North Dakota the roots for my future dreams and goals took hold. Why ND? Well when you have a chance you take it, and this was my chance, so I took a chance. We struck ground in November 2008 and finished put up fence and barn during the winter, to get fence post dug we used coffee cans with charcoal in them to melt the frozen ground slow work but it worked! We finished and brought the first horse over in March of 2009, that horse was Cat pregnant with Icon Farms first foal. I have no doubt in the quality of horses we are producing, but like everyone the slow processes, money issues etc have made this such a trying project, however I will not waiver and Icon Farms will produce champion horses no matter what discipline they go into. You may ask, Daniel what the heck is the meaning behind ICON FARMS?? Well to me an Icon is someone who sets standards, who is always stays on top, who people aspire to be like, who take risks and set trends. My future is certain because of all of my experiences in the past, I've combined years of knowledge and hands on experience with amazing people in the horse industry: Randy Hartley, Dean De Renzo, Francis & Barbara Vanlangendonck, Lisa Jagers, Lori McIntosh,Michelle Delk Colorio, Kimmet Aldoff-Powell, Connie Fales, and so many other great people! I owe my passion and opportunities to be who I am to my beautiful mother Robyn Lewis who is my rock who has shown me how to be a great human not only to others but to my animals she inspires me every day to make her proud, my amazing grandma Saundrea Nihiser who has sacrificed so much of her own to help me find my life path, she hauled my butt from Homosassa to Ocala daily, she listened to me talk horses hours upon hours, she took care of me when i doubted who I was and was there when I was lost, she and my mom amaze me daily! Without these people and the knowledge and chances they gave me I would not be who I am today I love you all.
I have sought out to breed the best horses I can breed without breaking the bank on purchase prices in mares. The results so far have been very rewarding with 4 beautiful foals bred by myself. The bloodlines represented at Icon Farms include, NRHA $3 Million Dollar Sires Gunner and Wimpys Little Step, Mega Jac, Hollywood Dun It, Chic Please, Nic It In the Bud etc. Foals are handled from birth, they are socialized from day one. Icon Farms combines both natural horse meathods as well as keeping up with modern and improved meathods of horse care. The horses spend most of there day outside, and come in during the night. They are both a business and my friends. I am very proud of the bloodlines and the horses I have in my program!
